I should love to know when last most of the England football team sang the National Anthem, and whether it was still played at all at Scotland matches.
Few people sang it in the Scouts, as I recall. It is regularly played in the Queen's presence with no singing whatever.
What proportion of the population even knows the words? A pretty small one, I reckon.
Meanwhile, any amount of fuss over this, while ex-service personnel starve to death or otherwise go to the grave in horrible fashion, thanks to George Osborne and Iain Duncan Smith.
