And we should be quite happy that there is no more specific need for the BBC Asian Network. But BBC Six Music is the station that Radio One ought to be, in the way that BBC Four is the channel that BBC Two ought to be. Threatening to scrap Six Music is a clever trick to make cuts, as such, unpopular to the point of mass unacceptability. And it seems to have worked.
