Rather than talk about the Supreme Court's ruling on the definition of sex, the first half of last night's Newsnight was given over to fawning over someone who had been a "senior advisor to Kamala Harris".
And rather than talk about the denunciation of the war in Gaza by 36 members of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, or about the dismissal of Stephen Yaxley-Lennon's appeal, the second half was given over to fawning over Douglas Murray.
Nick Watt did both. Centrism and right-wing populism are con tricks to sell exactly the same economic and foreign policies to different audiences by pretending to wage a culture war. Fascism is inherent in both of them, and it never arises except by their joint enterprise.
Nothing must have happened in Britain yesterday, Newsnight's obsession with Trump is unhinged.
