Despite a 12-point lead for independence, John Swinney has disbanded the Scottish Government's Independence Unit as MSPs prepared for a £20,000 pay rise to help towards the pensions of SNP stalwarts.
But would that British independence were as alive as Scottish independence was dead. Britain is preparing to realign with the European Union's rules on food, which are set with no British involvement and which are enforced by the European Court of Justice.
Opponents are saying that that would render impossible a free trade agreement with the United States, despite their having previously denied that such a deal would entail any reduction in food standards.
Are those the only options? Either whatever the EU wanted, or whatever the US wanted, with Reform UK in the latter camp? To say no, do whatever you can to secure the election of the Workers Party, first at Runcorn and Helsby, and then at Hampstead and Highgate.
Would we get food as good as in Brussels?
ReplyDeleteIf the EU had ever delivered that, then there would have been no Brexit.
