The Conservatives are going to make significant gains in next year's local elections. That is a good thing, if not necessarily in itself, then certainly because the right-wing Labour machine needs to be wiped off the municipal map.
So, where is a newly Conservative-led council going to put up a new statue of Winston Churchill? I exempt the former coalfield areas from that question, due to the special circumstances of our relationship with him. But where else, exactly?
