Holden Up, So Far

Richard Holden has secured the reversal of the increase in Vehicle Excise Duty on new motorhomes. He is working tirelessly against gambling addiction. He is well on the way to securing hospital provision in the Consett area in succession to Shotley Bridge. He is leading the way against the bizarre levying of business rates on public conveniences.

Richard is trying to restore the rail link between Consett and Tyneside. He has suggested that Elon Musk build a four million square foot Gigafactory in the North East. He is cooperating with the full range of elected local representatives. And in the Pont Valley, coal mining has returned to County Durham.

I could never vote for any parliamentary candidate who even pretended to believe that Keir Starmer ought to become Prime Minister, and I myself am now far too ill ever to contest another election to anything.

But here at North West Durham in 2024, there will be a candidate who upheld family and community values by seeking to secure economic equality and international peace through the democratic political control of the means to those ends, including national and parliamentary sovereignty.

Brexit is a double opportunity, both to reorganise the British economy under State direction, and to develop a fully independent British foreign policy, including in relation to the United States, with no use of military force except in self-defence.

I will vote for a candidate who demonstrably recognised that, and I will not be the only one. It is up to Richard Holden whether or not he will be that candidate. His majority is 1,144, which is 2.4 per cent.
