Suspended, Animation

Chris Williamson, Roger Godsiff and Stephen Hepburn have all been refused endorsement as Labour candidates by the party's National Executive Committee.

The absentee Jeremy Corbyn has given something to each Blairite strand, Williamson to the neocons, Godsiff to the gender self-identifiers, and Hepburn to the #MeToo lot. They will give him absolutely nothing in return. Their next coup has already been arranged to begin during the results of the General Election.

Labour will never hold Derby North without Williamson, and certainly not with some parachutee. He could beat them into third place behind the Conservatives. Godsiff could also give them a good run for their money as an Independent, while Hepburn has deep roots in the local politics of his constituency.

All in all, another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. After nearly 30 years of suggestion, speculation, and even a sort of preparation, I am standing for Parliament here at North West Durham.
