I have kept away from the Jeffrey Epstein story, but the man's wealth was completely inexplicable by any normal means, and he was permitted to operate at the very highest social and political levels despite the universal knowledge that he was a paedophile. He had "intelligence asset" written all over him.
The most metropolitan, liberal and elite members of the metropolitan liberal elite are baffled that everyone else has responded to the news of Epstein's death with a shoulder-shrugging, "That's just what the Clintons do, especially her."
But then, they are baffled by most things. Trump, Corbyn, Brexit, the failure of Change UK, the inability of the Democrats to take back the House without the likes of The Squad: all of these phenomena are as incomprehensible to them as the fact that everyone else just assumes the Clintons to be crooks, sexual perverts and serial killers, or the fact that everyone else just assumes, both that Tony Blair lied Britain into the Iraq War, and that Blair ordered the murder of Dr David Kelly.
Ah, yes, Tony Blair. The British figure of interest in the Epstein story is not Prince Andrew. Who's he, when he's at home? No, it is Peter Mandelson. With whom comes, of course, both Blair, and the Remainer and anti-Corbyn poster boy, Alastair Campbell. Like Al Capone and tax evasion, we might at last be on the cusp of at least getting that mob for something.
Meanwhile, another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party is now in the process of registration. I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham even if I can raise only the deposit, which I could do by going pretty overdrawn, although that was not how I was brought up. Buy the book here.
I would still prefer to raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign, but I am no longer making my candidacy conditional on having done so. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
