The Real Deal?

How unpopular is the Government's Brexit plan, really?

The House of Commons is no guide. Purely for the sake of illustration, scarcely a soul in that opposed any of the wars in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Libya, despite the profound misgivings in the country at large.

I am so opposed to this deal  that, in the increasingly likely referendum between it and Remain, I would vote Remain, since even staying in the EU would be preferable.

But this deal is supported by the CBI, which carries great weight in Toryland, and which gave Theresa May a rapturous reception today.

And this deal is supported by both of the Mail newspapers, which are also strongly supportive of the Prime Minister personally, and which are unerring in their ability to read what is still their mass readership.

Think on.
