Après Cela, Le Déluge

Will Labour win back Scotland in 2020? Well, so what if it doesn't?

Unlike Northern Ireland, which is given no choice, Scotland has voted itself into parliamentary irrelevance.

The total Conservative collapse in the more populous North of England in 2020 (and, as much as anything else, there are four more years of floods to come) will be such that Labour will not need Scotland.

In order to matter, it is not Labour that needs Scotland to vote Labour. It is Scotland that needs Scotland to vote Labour.

Or Conservative, but that is never going to happen again.
