Gordon Brown will be 69 in 2020, and long gone from Parliament, but he will still be the winner of that year's General Election.
Putting such huge numbers of people on working tax credits, so that even millions of full-time private sector employees were effectively benefit claimants to an extent that their lives would be visibly affected by any loss or reduction, was quite possibly the most brilliant tactical stroke ever pulled by a British Labour politician.
