Flogging A Dead Stalking Horse

And what, pray, does Simon Danczuk have in common with Lord Grabiner, who is Rupert Murdoch's lawyer at three thousand pounds per hour, as well as being a director of Wentworth Golf Club, which is Chinese-owned and which charges new members a fee of £125,000? One hundred and twenty-five thousand pounds. Just to join.

For that matter, what, pray, does Danczuk have in common with Lord Warner, who would charge NHS users £10 a month, plus £20 for every night in hospital, in the service of his employers, Apax Partners?

We do know, however, that Danczuk wishes to write Budget surpluses into the Statute Law, thereby requiring the State to collect more in taxation than it spent. Read that over until it sinks in. That is the Fiscal Charter. That is what it says.

I had been hoping that someone like Dan Hodges might put up at Oldham West and Royton, there to be hammered into the ground. I still do hope that. And I hope that Danzuk goes through with his little challenge. For the very same reason.
