An Islamist tribalist versus a tribalist whose polygamy seems not to hinder his warm relationship with the American Evangelical Right. If the French see this unlovely dispute as their concern, then that, too, is their concern. Each and both are absolutely no concern of ours.

A government's legitimacy does not derive from being "internationally recognised", just as a military action's legitimacy does not derive from having been "authorised" by the United Nations Security Council.
