Beyond The Blue Horizon

Join the Tories? I'd be surprised if all sorts of people were not quietly doing so.

Twice in a generation, a fairly large and mostly middle-aged Labour Party, with a bewildering array of affiliated organisations and with a strongly argumentative culture, has been taken over by a tiny faction partly on and partly beyond its outer fringes.

It ought to be a doddle to do that to the tiny, elderly, unitary and deferential Conservative Party, most of the members of which have always defined themselves as apolitical.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. I need £150 as soon as possible, to register a new party.

And even without that, it has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.

I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
