When it look as if the last Parliament was going to run its natural course, then I told you that at the 2020 General Election, the Liberal Democrats would make considerable gains in the Remain heartlands of the South. Based on the local election results, that is clearly on course to happen whenever the next General Election came along. Even Jacob Rees-Mogg now has a Lib Dem council.
In the coming hung Parliament, however, we need our people to hold the balance of power. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post. I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
