Gangster's Paradise

Or not.

Yet more romanticisation of the Great Train Robbers in general and of Ronnie Biggs in particular. If it not them, then it is the Krays, or Mad Frankie Fraser. There is always at least one of these characters in EastEnders, and the present one is played by the son of a real-life Kray associate.

I had intended to be satisfied with the knowledge that the theme tune and the opening sequence had been left intact, and then to fill up the rest of the hour with the highbrow stuff. But beautifully produced, directed and acted though Mrs Biggs was, I still felt compelled to switch back over to Dallas.
