“On Your Side”?

“Plaid: On Your Side” was the slogan on the rostrum from which Ieuan Wyn Jones delivered his speech. Does that also rhyme in Welsh? I bet it doesn’t. The speech itself was in English, too. What is going on? And why?

    Surely Politics is not about preaching to the converted.
    Its about explaining your position and persuading people.
    Presumably if the speech had been in Welsh, neither you or I could comment on it.
    In this instance you do not appear to have been coureous enough to address issues. A surprising and uncharacteristic lapse.

    Oh I suspect the North East of England is low on their priority list.
    Not so Mid Wales.
    But rather obviously to advance the cause of Cymru, they need English people on their side. Put simply more people will understand them in English or Welsh.
    When (white) South Africans spoke on BBC they did not speak Afrikaans.

    They used to pride themselves on not being supported by the BBC. And Plaid used to pride itself on not being supported by anyone who didn't speak Welsh. What happened?
