"Not Normally Socialised"

Karen Matthews certainly is "not normally socialised", and the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire puts it.

She has not been "normally socialised" by the employment, often in "normally socialised" industries, of the only father of her children, her lawful wedded husband, part of the network that, together with her own, ensured in her community that pretty much (if pretty much) everyone was "normally socialised" all the time, not least (though by no means exclusively) by organising politically to insist upon "normally socialised" healthcare, "normally socialised" education, "normally socialised" public transport, "normally socialised" community policing, and so forth.

And she is coming to the house next door to yours, or even to what is now your house, when central government has forced the council to take away your nice neighbours', and indeed your own, "normally socialised" security of tenure, in order to hand over their "normally socialised" home, and indeed yours, to her. It won't be "normally socialised" for long after that. Will it?

  2. Not for ever, she isn't. Nor should she, I suppose.

And plenty more of ... what is the term ... Blair's Children aren't going there at all.

This new class is Blair's lasting legacy.
