In the middle of Storm Arwen, Nicola Sturgeon has just told people to make sure to keep their windows open to ward off the Omicron variant.
That she is way ahead of everyone else in Scottish politics makes a nonsense of the decision to reject Alex Salmond and George Galloway at the Holyrood elections.
It also explains the sheer venom of Sturgeon's courtiers' campaign against Joanna Cherry, who would still be wrong about independence, but who would be an almost immeasurably better Leader and First Minister.
She promised them a referendum on independence but what has she given them?
