Our esteemed Foreign Secretary is concerned that if Iran acquired a nuclear bomb, which it won't, then "its neighbours" would want the same.
Iran has a land borders with Pakistan, it is very near to India and Israel, and it is not very far from Russia. There are American nuclear weapons in Turkey, which in NATO's own terms is its most important member state after the United States.
Donald Trump would probably nuke Iran for Saudi Arabia, and as long ago as 2008 Hillary Clinton publicly promised to do so if she were to be so instructed by her Saudi, Kuwaiti and Emirati campaign donors.
Our Foreign Secretary, who sees himself as a potential Prime Minister, appears to aware of absolutely none of this, while John Bolton is within spitting distance of handing over Iran to the PMOI/MEK, which has a reasonable claim to be the weirdest political cult in the world.
If that war started, and certainly if it did so with any kind of British participation, then Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe would be shot. If she were lucky. Yet what protection has she? Jeremy Hunt.
Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.
