Just The Job?

Supposedly high employment and supposedly low unemployment are meaningless when the link between being in work and being able to pay the bills has been broken.

You can now be counted as employed if you do one hour per week on minimum wage, or if you are an unpaid full-time carer for an elderly relative.

And you can now do two full-time, paid jobs without being able to make ends meet.

All three parties are to blame for this, over the 42 years since the Callaghan Government's turn to monetarism, and counting.

This was why we voted Leave.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it.

It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.

I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
