Just The Job?

They are counting people as unemployed only if they are claiming JSA or Universal Credit. The latter is hard to get, and the former is now even harder.

Meanwhile, "employment" now includes zero hours contracts, voluntary work, and "unpaid family work" such as looking after children or elderly relatives.

If you do that, then they count you as having a job when they point to "record levels of employment".

This is all a fiddle.
