Undeterred

At various times, the so-called Islamic State has attacked Britain and France, Russia and China, India and Pakistan. All of those countries have nuclear weapons.

You may say that no deterrent works against fanatics, although you are thereby making our case here on the other side. But since those countries' acquisition of those weapons, each of them has been attacked by rather a lot of people. The country that was attacked on 11th September 2001 had the largest nuclear arsenal in the world.

So it is not because Israel has nuclear weapons that Israel is never attacked by the so-called Islamic State. Rather, it is because the two have an active military alliance, with Israel bombing the enemies of IS in Syria while bringing injured jihadis to an IS field hospital in the Golan Heights.

Priti Patel tried to divert British aid money to that IS field hospital. Most Labour and almost all Conservative MPs support the alliance between Israel and IS fanatically, to the point of wishing to criminalise criticism of Israel. So did the Liberal Democrats in government, and there is no reason to suppose that they have changed.

But across all parties, and this is equally true if they happen to be Jewish, those MPs' motivation is not ideological. Rather, the so-called Islamic State is of course really Saudi Arabia, with pockets so deep that you could drill for oil in them. And a small part of bought and paid for support for Saudi Arabia is support for Israel.

It works in that order. Support from, and therefore support for, Saudi Arabia, which is IS. Therefore, and almost incidentally, support for Israel. Not out of principle, but for the money. Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. I will stand for this seat of North West Durham, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
