Last night, the House of Commons voted to make it more difficult for the Government to tax after Brexit, and voted to make it harder to intervene in the economy in order to navigate a No Deal Brexit.
Thankfully, Kate Hoey, Graham Stringer and Ronnie Campbell voted against this, while Ian Austin, Sir Kevin Barron, Caroline Flint, John Mann, Dennis Skinner, Lisa Nandy and Jon Cruddas abstained.
But that is a pretty short list, and at least one of the people on it has already announced that he is going to retire at the next General Election.
Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it.
It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.
I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
