Dead and Buried

One of the most striking things about the British, although of course not the British Government's, reaction to the executions in Saudi Arabia has been the universal assumption, which apparently even the Government does regularly express to Saudi representatives (although possibly not), that capital punishment itself is utterly alien to this country and a mark of absolute barbarism.
