Cracked Jewels

Most of Margaret Thatcher's defenders identify two jewels in her crown.

One is the sale of council housing, and the other is her anti-trade union legislation.

In which case, why, after all these years, is there any need for any more in either vein?

In their own terms, those changes must have been woefully inadequate.

In which case, so must she.
