The Old Red Devil Again

"Or risk putting Corbyn in Number 10"? That is meaningless when it is addressed to Conservative MPs, as it is when it is addressed to, for example, most readers of the Daily Telegraph or the Daily Mail

They are, understandably and by definition, opposed to any Leader of the Labour Party as Prime Minister. They certainly were to Tony Blair, and John Major's lieutenants used to make exactly this "threat" using Blair's name.

They sometimes did so to the same individuals as are by all accounts being addressed in these terms in the darker corners of the Palace of Westminster this very afternoon.

But until such time as there ceases to be a Labour Party, then it amounts to nothing more than "Tories don't want a Labour Government". Well, of course they don't. But so what?

There is this kind of hysteria every time that Labour looks to be in with a chance of winning a General Election, and there always has been. Absolutely nothing is being said about Jeremy Corbyn that was not also said, sometimes by the same people, about Tony Blair.

At least Corbyn is not going to start any wars. And at least he is opposed to this Brexit White Paper. Not all of his party is as sound on either issue. But he is.

Not all of his party is as sound on either issue. But there is going to be another hung Parliament. We need our people to hold the balance of power in it. I need £10,000 in order to stand for Parliament with any chance of winning.
