Plumbing Old Depths

Giving age-old exploitation some funky-sounding name like "the gig economy" does not make it anything other than it is.

Today's victory is of the utmost importance.

  1. Do you have a clue what you're talking about? Many parents and students who need flexible part time work would be unable to work at all without the gig economy.

It gives them the flexibility to choose when they work and how many hours they work on a week by week basis.

A parent or student wouldn't be able to scale their hours up or down to fit in with their other commitments on a fixed term contract.

  2. You've clearly never been a parent or a student. How would they ever be able to work fixed-term contracts?

Far from being "exploitation", flexibility is a massive bonus for them.

    1. I was a student, all right. Ask a member of the current Shadow Cabinet.
