Sound All Round

Christian Wolmar's is an important voice on transport, in particular, and also on housing.

I have vaguely assumed in the past that he must have declined a peerage.

But he moved a local motion of No Confidence in Jeremy Corbyn's Leadership.

Yet there is a Labour candidate at Richmond Park only because of the intervention of Red Labour.

The anti-Corbynists had wanted to give the Lib Dems a clear run. Something that, tellingly, the Greens have decided to do.

Moreover, Wolmar has declared his intention to vote against Article 50.

The voters deserve a candidate who is sound on transport, sound on housing, sound on Corbyn, and sound on Article 50.

If Labour will not provide that electoral choice, then someone else ought to do so.
