Deep Trouble

With Newsnight clearly briefed to go after Amber Rudd, the Orgreave decision will not stand.

But for all the good points of much of her domestic policy programme, points lifted directly from the Hard Left of 18 months ago, Theresa May is simply out of her depth on, in particular, Brexit.

Jeremy Corbyn and those around him have had a detailed programme for a post-Brexit Britain for 40 years in some cases, including his.

Whether or not they wanted Brexit, and a lot of them certainly did, they know exactly what they want out of it.

May, however, has no idea. She is making it up as she goes along.

The fact is that she got the job because she was not that other one, the one who claimed to have run the City because she had been a clerical assistant, and who said that women who did not have children had no stake in society.
