It is impossible to understand what happened at Hillsborough without an inquiry into Orgreave.
The Hillsborough cover-up was the Thatcher Government's act of gratitude to South Yorkshire Police for its approach to the Miners' Strike.
But this was written in May. The author is now the Prime Minister's Joint Chief of Staff. The fight goes on.
Except the Hillsborough cover up had nothing to do with the Thatcher Government.
ReplyDeleteThe police did the cover up to hide their mistakes.
At the very least, they were allowed to get away with it.
DeleteA cover up by definition means it wasn't known. Nobody has ever produced a shred of evidence that the Government knew the police had covered up terrible errors at Hillsborough.
ReplyDeleteIn those days, when the police said something you just believed them.
You can't have read the report. If Thatcher had been alive when it came out, her trial would be going on right now.
