Show Some Respect

The right-wing media already adore Jess Phillips. They talk of this arriviste as a future Leader.

Ask yourself why. Do they normally like young, working-class women with strong opinions and stronger regional accents?

The Leader recently took a quarter of a million votes. He is the most talked about politician in 20 years. He has doubled his party's membership. He has cleared its previously considerable debts.

Moreover, he has been an MP since Jess Phillips was two. Someone needs to teach her a lesson in respect.

  1. In his interview Owen Jones certainly allowed us to make up our minds about Jess Phillips. I've never heard such lack of intellectual rigour in an MP, or in many adults.

She was proud of threatening to knife Corbyn (unwise language from a 'feminist'), swearing at Diane Abbot (what a great example from our elected representatives) and of sounding off, with her massive parliamentary experience, at ever-polite Corbyn and his staff.

But Owen, having done excellent interviews with Peter Hitchens, Jeremy Corbyn and Liz Kendall, why did you have to shred your reputation in the youtube version by describing Phillips as 'brilliant', 'an amazing asset'?

  2. Respect. That's what she needs a good lesson in. Respect.

  3. It beggars belief that she is an MP and you are not. At least he isn't, though. You know who. Have him and Phillips ever been seen together in the same room?

  4. I see her as some sort of Jacob Rees Mogg of Labour. It was quite fitting that she did a video with him. I'm not a fan of her myself and feel like the Tory leaning papers are undermining Jeremy with any sort of dissent of character. Such as Hilary Benn.

    1. I think of her more as Nadine Dorries during the last Parliament, when anyone still paid any attention to Nadine Dorries. Or as Louise Mensch, back when she was putting the Bag into Bagshawe.

    2. I wouldn't be surprised if Jess went on some reality show.
