What's Left?

Unless "left-wing" now has no meaning beyond "in disagreement with Peter Hitchens", it is simply rubbish to suggest, either that most left-wingers supported the secession of Kosovo and now take the anti-Russian side in Ukraine, or that very many people at all who take that view are in any sense left-wing.

The equation of the Left with support for the EU is also downright bizarre. The only British national newspaper (sold in newsagents, and part of the Parliamentary Lobby) to take an editorial line against Tony Blair's war in Kosovo, and which is now extremely critical of the Maidan Putsch, is also the only one to have endorsed an anti-EU list at the last European Elections, having been opposed to the entire project continuously from the very start.

See if you can name it. It is neither the Daily Mail nor the Daily Telegraph. Unlike it, neither of those has a large and highly active Readers' and Supporters' Group among Labour MPs, set up by members of the 2010 intake.
