And so the East Coast Main Line, in profit and with very high levels of passenger satisfaction, is put out to tender.

Back it goes to the private sector, from which it has already had to be rescued twice.

That's right. Twice.

If each of the franchises were taken back into public ownership as it came up, then, over the course of a Parliament, renationalisation could be done for free.

That's right. For free.

    That's why no party in Parliament can or will do it.

    The alleged EU law to which you refer has managed to escape the notice of every other member-state. Every single one.
