Getting The BBC Right

Neither of them is exactly starved of airtime. Nor would I wish either of them to be so.

But, in stark contrast to Owen Jones's article that he criticises, Peter Hitchens does not bother with any facts here.

It is an unquestionable article of faith to the British Right that the BBC is left-wing, even though it simply isn't.

The best that Hitchens can manage may be summarised as, "They are not as right-wing as I am, so they are not really on the Right at all." Once a Trotskyist there.

Most people think that the BBC is biased to the Right. And they are right. It is.

It has every Loony Right think tank boy on morning, noon and night. It treats fanatical hatred of the NHS as a mainstream opinion.

UKIP is entirely a creation of the BBC, and exists only because of the Corporation's lavish coverage of it while subjecting it to no scrutiny whatever.

And so on.
