Whatever Happened To The UDM?

I know the answer to that one, and it is quite likely that so do you.

But now that we are into the thirtieth anniversary twelvemonth of the Miners' Strike, a television documentary on that sorry little tale would be in order.

As would one on the fate of the pits that it organised, and which went on to be closed anyway by John Major and Michael Heseltine.

Heseltine was on outrageous form last night on The Miners' Strike And Me. That was a very good programme. ITV's documentary output is underrated.
