A Worthy Successor?

I should be extremely surprised if Sir Peter Tapsell really were considering giving up his seat for Boris Johnson.

After all, is Johnson a Keynesian and pro-Commonwealth scourge of the EU, Thatcherism, the neocons, and now also Murdoch?

Could Johnosn have asked the Prime Minister, as Sir Peter did in November: "Should not ownership of newspapers be restricted to British nationals who are judged fit and proper, as with television?"

The answers to those questions establish not only whether or not Johnson ought to succeed Sir Peter Tapsell, but also whether or not Johnson ought to succeed David Cameron.
