In The 'Doch

At least in the Bosnian and Chechen cases, Babar Ahmed was only putting neoconservative policy into action.

There are some very colourful Bosniaks, Kosovars, Chechens and others living comfortably in Britain. When are we going to extradite any of them, to the countries where they actually committed their undisputed offences? Offences rather bloodier than merely running a website.

No one at all should be extradited from Britain to America while the present arrangements remain in place. And how the hell does allegedly having run a website in London mean that he has to stand trial in ... well, in any country other than this one?

As I wrote yesterday, the test of whether or not David Cameron has made good his pledge to restore equity between the United Kingdom and the United States will come when we apply to extradite the New York-based fugitive from British justice, James Murdoch.

In fact, if they want Babar Ahmed, then they have to give us Baby 'Doch. Let that be the deal, or there must be no deal.

Bring it on.
