Mumbai Mix

Nick Cohen rightly denounces "the fascistic Shiv Sena", but says that that they come from somewhere called "Mumbai". That name is not used by Bombay's High Court, nor by that city's Stock Exchange. Most Indians laugh at eager-to-please foreigners for employing it. The only Indians who call Bombay "Mumbai" are the fascistic Shiv Sena. No one laughs at them.

Your quasi-colonial rantings never cease to amaze. Back on this hobby horse are we?

I hear that you call Harare Salisbury and Zimbabwe South Rhodesia. Is this true?

  2. Well done on Googling that one, and well done to Wikipedia on getting it right for you, although let's not get distracted by the Rhodesia/South Rhodesia question, as your head would probably explode.

Everyone in Bombay who is not a member or supporter of the Shiv Sena calls Bombay Bombay. Unfortunately, there are rather a lot of Shiv Sena. But even so.

I had a very interesting conversation about you last night. Oh, well, never mind...
