After Fasting, Feasting?

Following the restoration of the Friday fast, will today be the last Ascension Day that will only be kept on the Biblical day by those of us in England and Wales who happen to be freelances or retired, and moreover to be able to get to a celebration of the Extraordinary Form at the considerable distance of which I honestly do not think that its London-based partisans have any concept? Even if it is nice, and indeed good, both to see old friends and to make new ones at these events.

All right, so our Bishops did not want this Pope, although it is not clear who they wanted instead, or why. But his visit to these shores was a triumph, and their petulant little protest should be reversed. It is ludicrous that Anglicans and Methodists are keeping the Epiphany, Ascension Day and in many cases even Corpus Christi on the right days, which in today's case is the Biblical day, as of course does the Holy See (no matter what little games the Italian Bishops' Conference might play from time to time), but almost all Catholics in England and Wales are prevented from doing so.
