Why Would The Bear Lash Out?

A nuclear arms reduction treaty with the United States. No American missiles in Eastern Europe after all. No Western support of any practically meaningful kind for Georgia over South Ossetia. A growing realisation in the West as to who is really on the front line against Islamist terrorism. Why would Russia bother to murder the President of Poland? It was an accident. An accident waiting to happen. But an accident all the same.

    Unfortunately, some people in my office today were musing on the possibility that Russia had the president of Poland killed. Some people just can't seem to come to grips with the fact that the Cold War is over.
