Pity The Poor BNP

Yes, you read aright.

It announced publicly that it would only contest this seat if I did, and is now left wasting its money on doing so even though I am not, which means that it will have no money left when I do.

That announcement appeared in at least one national newspaper. What's that you say, Griffinettes? Which one? I'm not your Press Officer. Nor am I ever likely to be.

  1. But if this piece makes them look stupid, why on earth wouldn't you post the link?

  2. I'm not sure that it ever was online. That certainly wasn't where I saw it. Anyway, I wouldn't give them the satisfaction.

  3. They look stupid enough fighting an election when every vote for them goes towards another election later in the year. No way can they afford to fight that, too. Once they have had to sit one out for lack of funds, they will never come back.

  4. So where did you see it?

Yes, it is a brilliant plan of yours. As a commenter said on a previous thread, you recognised that there would be two elections this year, that all your opponents could only fight one, and that you would keep your powder dry till then.

Which would be a fantastic piece of foresight, if not for the tiny, teeny, eeny little problem that you have been confidently telling everyone that you would stand in May, were frantically fundraising to do so, and had you received sufficient cash would now be out there campaigning.

Some people - scurrilous people, you understand - might just suggest that this subsequent positing of yourself as waiting for a second election is nothing more than a little bit of post hoc justification....

  6. I have never said it, Ming the Merciless. Other people have, but i haven't. Things have just turned out that way.

Anonymous, I'm not saying. Why should I? This little fact has been on here often enough in the past and provoked no comment. Suddenly, let me assure you, the BNP is most put out...
