Oh, the shock, the horror! They are supposed to be spending all their time making the preposterous propaganda that is their television programme, which is widely imagined to be real, or at least realistic. It is neither.

    More than one missing name.

    Nominations do not close until tomorrow. And one of the missing names suggests that whoever they have reporting from Consett must be, as much as anything else, literally blind.

    Curse this Internet! Time was when these people's perfect ignorance of everything outside London could be overlooked, and its damage contained. But not now.
