Fight Every Seat

Now that Cameron's lot will not be contesting every seat in the House after all, it is time to look at why any party which fails to do so is given, say, Party Political Broadcasts. Never mind a place in the unconstitutional Leaders' Debates. A requirement to spend the same amount in each seat that a given party was contesting should also be introduced.

While it could not be legislated for, every party should put up in every seat a person capable of being that constituency's MP. That that does not already happen demonstrates that the existing parties do not have sufficient members of the necessary calibre, so that no such thing will happen until we have entirely new parties.

And those cannot be created until the people who would create them are returned to Parliament, there to coalesce into formations genuinely representative of the electorate at large.
