Letting atheists onto Thought for The Day is being petitioned for again.
The matter of where Thought for The Day contributors come from has long baffled me. They were rarely well-known beforehand, and several (Anne Atkins, Giles Fraser, my old friend Lionel Blue, and others) have used it as the launchpad for really quite considerable careers.
