RIP Alfie Goddard

Killed by his father, a cannabis addict who was high on that drug at the time.

Cannabis must be made a Class A drug, accompanied by a crackdown on the possession of drugs, including a mandatory sentence of three months for a second offence, six months for a third offence, one year for a fourth offence, and so on.

How many more dead babies must there be before we confront the fact that the rich and powerful, and their spoilt kiddies, are as subject to the law of the land as everyone else?

  3. When you pass round a spliff Jon this is what you are buying into.

  4. If he does so, then yes.

There is no comparison with alcohol. Most of the population uses alcholol, but nothing like most of the population commits serious crimes as a result. Serious crime among cannabis users is rampant.

  5. Why did the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, consisting of 23 experts in the field (what are your qualifications in science or pharmacology, by the way?) and who deliberated for months and consulted reams of evidence, recommend keeping it as class C? Had they perhaps not heard of this supposed "rampant crime spree"?

  6. It doesn't affect them, no. They think of cannabis as something that they did at university and which their children do now, with all the money in the world for rehab if necessary.

Thankfully, we still have a few politicians (though nowhere near as many as there should be) who are atuned (though nowhere near as much as they should be) to the world inhabited by the rest of us.

The war on drugs has not been lost. It has never been fought. But it should be. And at last there are signs that it might be.

  8. Nonsense!

He had "issues" with anger and had been drinking.

No doubt he had been drinking strong lager (Stella, 1664 etc.) which in my view is far worse than cannabis.

If everyone had a couple of spliffs and a few pints of regular strength bitter on a Friday night we wouldn't see the carnage on our streets that we do now!

  9. Thank God that your theory will never be put to the test.
