He needs to ascertain the five changes to which moral and social conservatives would most object, and undertake to veto any such Bill unless already passed (which it never would be) by a two-thirds majority in both Houses of Congress. What would the GOP say to that?
And he needs to ascertain the five economic changes that the unions most want, and undertake to veto any Bill relating to such matters which did not include them; no such Bill would ever have been passed by two thirds of each House.
Or he should be needing to get ready for one hell of a fight in the 2012 primaries, and on into the election itself. Is he so needing? If not, why not?
