Wha's Like Them?

Scots Law is Roman, but nothing to do with Napoleonic codification. Is it the last such system in Europe? And why are the legal systems of Canada, New Zealand, the American South (apart from Napoleonic Louisiana) and West, and the old Scottish-evangelised Presbyterian heartlands of the old British East Africa, based on English Common Law rather than on Scots Law?
