Over To You, Celeb Squad

If such a thing there be at Scotland Yard.

The BBC might be too craven to sack Jonathan Ross. But he and Russell Brand have both committed a criminal offence. So they should be arrested.

Their defenders bang on about "censorship". But "censorship" (not always necessarily a bad thing, anyway) is imposed from outside. What we are talking about here is "editing". Which someone at the Beeb must be paid to do.

Not, though, paid six million pounds.

Ah, there's the rub.

  2. But the recipient has explicitly said that he doesn't want to press charges.

So on what grounds should they be arrested?

  3. He doesn't need to press charges. They can be charged and prosecuted anyway. And they should be.

  4. By whom?

Actually, why don't you bring about a private prosecution?

Heaven knows the BPA needs some publicity (I don't recommend Googling: it's a dispiriting experience), and this would provide it by the bucketload - as well as giving you a perfect platform for your own particular brand of no-nonsense social conservatism.

And this isn't a party matter.
