The Today presenters were beside themselves this morning when interviewing the author of the spoof McCain campaign blog from which derived many Sarah Palin stories that might well have been true, but for which no other evidence existed. They were utterly convinced that the fault was in him. Of course it wasn't. It was, and is, in those who were paid to check these things, but who were too lazy to bother.
Palin is quite clearly going to be the Republican nominee in 2012. No one deserves a clear run against nothing more than her. There must be a proper primary challenge to Obama, to ascertain what (if anything) he has done and will do for the economically populist, morally and socially conservative foreign policy realists who have put him where he is.
